Review highlights
Based on 931 reviewsReviews of D'Arcy McGee's highlight a consistently welcoming atmosphere and attentive, friendly service, often noted for accommodating various guest needs with care. The restaurant is praised for its spacious dining area and convenient parking, contributing to a comfortable experience. The carvery offerings, particularly roast turkey and beef with traditional trimmings, receive frequent commendation for generous portions and quality. Seasonal ambiance, such as festive decorations, further enhances the dining experience. Overall, patrons appreciate the combination of hearty food, efficient service, and inviting environment, making D'Arcy McGee's a favored destination for both casual meals and special occasions.
I visited The Spawell in December with my elderly aunt and daughter, we were looked after by a lovely woman named Mary, she ensured we had a suitable table and provided excellent table service. The food was lovely, and there was a lovely atmosphere with the christmas decorations. Extremely impressed and will definitely be returning!
The carvery roast turkey and roast beef dinners are beautiful. All the trimmings including mushy peas if you like. I will definitely be back again for a feed
Lovely carvery on Sunday. Plenty of food given. Good selection of food
One of my favourite places to eat carvery.Lovely atmosphere and friendly staff.Ample space for dining.
D'Arcy McGee's offers a peaceful oasis with ample parking just outside. The attentive staff provide efficient service, ensuring a smooth dining experience. I commenced my meal with a delightful serving of homemade leek and potato soup alongside a fresh roll, which truly hit the spot. For the main course, I opted for the prime roast rib of beef accompanied by all the traditional trimmings. The potatoes were expertly cooked, with both the roasties and mash reaching perfection. However, I must mention a couple of drawbacks from my overall experience. The lack of thick gravy was noticeable, detracting slightly from the dish. Additionally, the beef, while tender, leaned towards the dry side, warranting a touch of moisture. It was also surprising to learn that the restaurant sources beef not exclusive to Ireland but from across the broader EU region, which may disappoint those seeking a more local or authentic Irish dining experience, particularly considering the price point.Overall, D'Arcy McGee's offers a cosy atmosphere, attentive service, and well-prepared dishes.
Just went there for lunch and it was pretty good. Even though it was a bit more expensive than other carvery places and it gave me a bit less, the food was great. The waiters were really nice and funny and it was just really good in general!
Been here heaps of different times, always great food, service and a very cozy atmosphere. Personally love the burgers, steaks and battered garlic mushrooms that they serve but can never go wrong with the carvery. Will always go back if given the chance.
Great food with affordable price, friendly service and a cozy atmosphere.
